I have worked in the wedding industry for 15 years, and it has transformed dramatically over this time. I can’t tell you how many amazingly talented wedding dress designers, planners, cake makers, florists, photographers, etc there are in the Uk and internationally, and I am so excited to be a part of this ever evolving industry.
Stylish and fashionable brides will simple adore French designer Delphine Manivet’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. If you haven’t heard of Delphine Manivet before, let me give you a bit of background on this fabulously talented designer. Delphine trained at the prestigious Institut Supérieur de la Mode in Paris, and worked in several different fashion houses, including Rochas. She started creating wedding dresses after designing her own wedding gown.
Delphine has been working in bridal for ten years and wanted to create modern and romantic wedding gowns for stylish and fashionable brides ‘who consider their wedding as a continuity of something, not as a beginning.’
What I personally love about the style of Delphine Manivet’s wedding dresses is that they are incredibly feminine yet fashion forward at the same time.
I am sure all you stylish and fashionable brides will adore Delphine’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. It features bohemian wedding dresses, sequinned shorts, capes, and sweaters, so is definitely aimed at the bride who loves to be a trendsetter. If I was to describe a celebrity who I think most suits Delphine Manivet’s style it would be the effortlessly stylish Olivia Palermo.
If you love the wedding dresses of Delphine Manivet, they are available in the UK at Browns Bride and The Mews Clifton Village in Bristol. Here are my highlights from her Fall/Winter 2015 collection. The backstage photographs are by (c) BFANY and the catwalk ones are by (c) Dan Lecca.
Stylish and fashionable brides will adore Delphine Manivet’s latest collection. This model reminds me of Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
This ‘Ozgur’ gown features a plunging neckline and three quarter length sleeves in jacquard velvet.
Bohemian brides will love ‘Mauricio, a v neck empire waist dress in silk chiffon with low cut vintage lace buttoned back.
I love the ‘flowing’ style of ‘Aliocha,’ along open backed dress in crinkled chiffon and silk lining.
How effortlessly cool is ‘Amedde?’
This ‘Malo’ top, ‘Yves’ skirt and Cape Boule, a short bustier and fifties style ankle length skirt in silk faille with wool and tweed cape, is just so stylish. I hope that Stylish and Fashionable Brides will Love Delphine Manivet’s Fall-Winter Collection 2015.
Today,we will go to An Understated Luxury Style For A Vintage Glamour Wedding
If you are planning a vintage glamour wedding, then play close attention to this glamorous photo shoot. When I received an email from Ofe Oyasor of Ollie’s Studio and took a look at the stunning images attached, I just knew it would be perfect for Style & the Bride.
When brides to be think of vintage, it is all too easy to imagine shabby chic vintage with mismatched china etc. However, when you term vintage with glamour, it takes on a whole new exciting meaning.
The venue for the photo shoot took place at Cheltenham Town Hall no 38 garden area because of its beautiful architecture. The team were also attracted by the soft blue hues of the Drawing Room there, which influenced the colour palette for the vintage glamour wedding photo shoot.
All bridesmaids were in blue. And groomsmen is grey suit with classic blue tie.
What I love in particular about the vintage glamour wedding is the cool vibe of the bride and groom. The bride’s gown is just perfect, as is the groom’s contemporary modern blue suit.

How dreamy is Temperley London’s Chrys dress, worn with long ‘Honour’ veil?
I have to say that I think Millie Mackintosh looked absolutely beautiful when she married in Alice Temperley.
Not only did I love her exquisitely elegant wedding dress, but I also adored her boho plaited up do. Although she looked like the epitome of a modern day bride, I also think her wedding style was very bohemian, which might have to do with the Temperley wedding dress she chose.
I have long been an admirer of Alice Temperley’s bridal and ready to wear collections. Her clothes appeal to me because they are so effortlessly feminine yet fashion forward at the same time.
Boho brides will love Temperley Bridal’s Imogen Winter 2015 Collection as it features lace dresses with intricate embellishments. New shapes include the ‘Mulberry’ dress, a hand embroidered piece featuring floral satin stitch with pearl and crystal embellishment. The fitted bodice and flared short skirt is a first for the Temperley Bridal collection, and is a fun alternative to a floor length gown. The ‘Posey’ gown is made from French vintage double scallop lace and the bodice flows into a waterfall overlay and full cascading train, which showcases a slim fitted silk satin skirt underneath.
‘I wanted to create a full collection with a wide variety of styles to suit every woman,’
Alice Temperley, MBE
I definitely agree with Alice’s comment that her collection will suit many brides-to-be, but I definitely think it has a real appeal to boho brides.
I adore Alice’s ‘Perl’ gown. Featuring off the shoulder sleeves and a floral embroidery, it has a very elegant feel to it. I can definitely see boho brides in this gown.
Temperley London ‘Mulberry’ dress is a cute alternative to more traditional wedding gowns.
I adore the striking feel of this ‘Lilac’ gown.
I think this ‘Angeli Lattice’ gown will appeal to fashion forward brides.
Alice Temperley’s Posey’ dress is incredibly romantic.
I don’t know if you have had a chance yet to see Christopher Bailey’s beautiful SS14 collection for Burberry, but it is definitely worth having a look at. With the likes of Sienna Miller, Harry Styles and ‘it’ model Suki Waterhouse in the front row, it was destined to be a spectacular affair and Christopher certainly didn’t disappoint. ‘I wanted the colours to be soft and gentle, like sugared flowers,’ he said.
Not only was the show a feast for one’s eyes with the ‘pretty pretty’ shades of mint, pale lemon, rose, lavender etc, it was also very bridal as he had a petal strewn finale. The collection was all about the English rose, which is what many brides-to-be want to look like on their wedding day.
Taking inspiration from Burberry’s SS14 collection, today’s post is all about ideas for a palette of sugar sweet pastels…
Sugar Coated Pastels Meets English Rose
I loved the petal strewn Burberry SS14 catwalk.
How gorgeous is this outfit and the colour combination of pale green with pink, which featured on Burberry’s collection? Perfect inspiration for your mother’s outfit or for a guest.
I am ‘in love’ with this pastel tower of macarons by Anges de Sucres
This blush and rose chiffon dress, style JH5357, which is part of Jim Hjelm’s Occasions Fall 2013 collection, is so feminine.
Philippa Craddock knows all about creating the most stunning flowers in an array of pastel shades.

The fashion pack have been hard at work filing their ‘Best Dressed’ list from yesterday’s Oscars. Although I love seeing who they have chosen, I prefer making my own judgement. I thought Oscar winning Cate Blanchett (who won the ‘Best Actress’ award), looked amazing in a ethereal beaded Armani Privé dress. Actress Lupita Nyong’ o, who won ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her role in the movie ’12 Years A Slave’,’ also wowed in a baby blue Prada dress that she chose because the blue reminded of her native Kenya.
Two Hollywood stars who looked very ‘bridal’ were Naomi Watts who wore a simple but glamorous white Calvin Klein dress and Kate Hudson who was very ‘old Hollywood’ in a beaded Versace dress with a deep v-neckline and cape detail.
However, the key red carpet wedding trends at 2014 Oscars that I think will be big news in bridal this year are the following:
Red Carpet Wedding Trends At 2014 Oscars
1. Navy/Midnight Blue
Both Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock demonstrated that ‘navy, or midnight blue’ is a big trend in the fashion world right now. Amy Adams wore a Gucci dress, whilst Sandra Bullock chose an Alexander McQueen strapless dress. Midnight blue has been big news in the world of bridal for a while now, and I think it will continue to be so, particularly when it comes to bridesmaid dresses.
This ‘Cambridge’ dress in ‘Royal Navy’ by BHLDN is so sophisticated and is the perfect gown for the Duchess of Cambridge.
I love the glamorous feel of this Dessy dress, style 2905 in ‘midnight.’
2. Nude colours.
Sparkling ‘nude’ was definitely one of the biggest Oscars 2014 trends. The likes of Cate Blanchett, Jessica Biel and Julie Delpy all opted for glamorous dresses in this colour. ‘Nude’ colours have been a very fashionable wedding choice in the last few years and I think a lot of brides-to-be opt for this look as it is extremely flattering and versatile.
White can often be a harsh and unflattering colour for brides. If you opt for a ‘nude’ coloured wedding dress, like this amazing Romona Keveza one, which was part of her Spring 2014 couture show, you will be very ‘on trend.’
This elegant ‘Sakura’ nude suede clutch bag by Harriet Wilde, available at Liberty in Love, is very stylish.
3. Strapless dresses
Hold on a minute. For all of those who thought ‘strapless’ wedding dresses were a thing of the past, think again. ‘Strapless dresses’ were a key trend at this year’s Oscars. The likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Biel and Amy Adams all wore strapless dresses in varying colours. I think, thanks to the Oscars 2014, strapless dresses will be big news once more in the world of bridal.
How ‘old Hollywood’ style is Alan Hannah’s ‘Dolores’ dress with optional overskirt and fur wrap?
I love the simplicity of this ‘Imagine’ gown by Stewart Parvin. Photograph by David Burke Photography.
4. Loose but glamorous side parting waves
Although there were some stars who wore their hair up, the likes of Sandra Bullock, Kate Hudson and Jessica Biel all wore their hair down slightly curled in a side parting style. This is a great look for those of you who want an ‘on trend’ fashionable bridal hairstyle that is perfect for city or boho weddings.
Why not wear your hair in a loose bun, similar to this model, who is dressed in a gorgeous ‘Yaela’ Pronovias gown?
5. The Deep V/plunging neckline
Charlize Theron, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Lupita Nyong’o all wore dresses with deep v necklines, which is a great look for those of you who are want to make a dramatic statement. Obviously if you don’t want to go for too plunging a neckline, you could just opt for a v neckline.
Amanda Wakeley‘s ‘Althea’ dress is perfect for those of you who are looking for a ‘greek goddess’ style dress.
Monique Lhuillier’s ‘Liberty’ dress has a v neckline, but is not too deep, and is very elegant.
